The PuroBrite™ system for heating and treating is a proprietary heat treating process that puts the needs of customers first. If you have tried other heat treating processes and received bad customer service or poor workmanship, the PuroBrite™ System for heating and treating is just what you need. Unlike big metal working companies that simply try to get work orders done as quickly as possible, Franklin Brazing uses the time and resources to do the job right, every time.
Before a single piece of metal enters the furnace, we meet with the customer to discuss the details of the order, such as the final application of the assemblies, the type of environment in which they will be used, and more. This gives us the knowledge we need to perform the right heat treating procedure, create strong braze joints, and ensure that the metal appears clean.
Only parts that have been thoroughly cleaned of all coatings, such as paint, rust, dirt, and grease enter the furnace. When heated, these coatings will oxidize and cause the surface of the metal to have a tarnished appearance that results from the coatings forming a stable layer of oxide.
Heat Treating Commences
After it is clean, the metal is placed in an atmosphere-controlled continuous furnace that maintains an atmosphere of pure hydrogen. The hydrogen prevents metals that contain chromium, which oxidizes when heated in an oxygen atmosphere, from oxidizing.
In addition to providing uniform heating, atmosphere-controlled continuous furnaces provide uniform cooling. In combination, the heating and cooling processes help prevent the formation of grain boundary precipitation whose stresses could cause metal to fail during service due to intergranular corrosion.
Franklin Brazing offers supply chain management for customers who need it. Using our supply chain services can expedite delivery time and save money compared to other supply chain options. If you need supply chain management for your work order, don’t hesitate to ask us.
